Today (yesterday, rather huhu) Charlene and i ran a 10k! It was a Pace UP event and so it was held 'round UP Diliman. Sadly, i got to the finish line within 1 hour and 36 minutes, a record 11 minutes longer than my Color Manila Nite Run time :(

I think i'll blame it on the terrains because no i do not accept defeat. Chos. Also, i might blame it on a lot of sightseeing: cutesy CHK training ground, creepy trees, cats, mashed frog carcasses, dude who looked a lot like Khal Drogo, frog gut juice, +++

Since none of us was of able to bring decent cameras, i painted a selfie!!! Hehe vanity to the 8o343sj72nd level :( I just had to have this day marked because this was the first time i'd be participating in a morning run okay

This is something i stole from Charlene's Facebook post hehe sorry

I hated how i forgot to smile the RA Rivera smile. I smiled that smile a lot, but just when the dude's actually there to have his picture taken with us, hay jusko nakalimot naman dana

Hannah met up with us after the run, and since we've got no pre-determined itinerary, we decided that we'd just go to Maginhawa to have brunch. However, stores pala in Maginhawa open up at ten in the morning, so we never really got to do our nomz there. Eventually, Hannah had to leave, so Char and i decided to eat at Rodic's nalang. So we ate at Rodic's. Then we had ice cream + an airconditioned room all to ourselves mehehe

Then we parted ways. I got home and fell asleep. Six hours later i awoke and i felt bad about wasting my day, so i decided to consult my sketchpad huhu

Yes this is a hate post. I hate myself

Seriously, it has been a super long while (as in ONE WHOLE FREAKIN YEAR) since the last time i've submitted something to deviantArt, and this is what i came up with?

Bading

I've entered some sort of an outfit-designing contest on deviantArt, so this is what i came up with

In the process of doing this, i've learned more about human fluidity, 3d modeling, and digital coloring, (kaso 'di pa masyadong halata k) so i guess you can say that i sort of went on an educational journey to find myself style? Whatevs bading talaga hahahahahahahahahuhu

Mum turns 51 today, and since she has been asking me to draw her, here it issss. Too bad she does not know that i, er, blog (or whatever)

Also, we went to Eastwood to celebrate her birthday. We hanged out at Something Fishy where we enjoyed a buffet of (drumroll please) seafood!!! Wow kagulat

Unfortunately the only time i've been to a buffet was that time we had breakfast at Disneyland Hotel in Hong Kong, so i do not really have the license to judge what this place has to offer jalsdfja but i think that the options were great? Pero i also think that it was a little too pricey

So i wouldn't really recommend it at all. According to my sister she has just been to another buffet a week back and that there were more dishes to choose from doon

Anyway

Happy birthday mum (hihi feeling British forever sorry)

I wasn't able to follow my long weekend itinerary so boohoo. Today I am supposed to come up with a poster thingie for our confraternity's August birthday celebrants. This is 100% voluntary. I'm doing it mostly because I don't have enough $$$ to buy each of them a gift (ang dami kaya nila, lima).

Instructions in English, Filipino, German, and Spanish. Ang 'di pa maka-gets panget.

Yes, I drew everything myself, though as usual I still have to borrow some textures from DeviantArt.
Here are my resources:
Everything was done on sketchpad and in Adobe Photoshop CS3.

Next week, our group will be holding a lobby game called Movie Addicts. This year's theme revolves around superheroes, both foreign and local. Ah, that explains why most of them are dressed in comic characters. But why choose the Filipino motif? Well, I guess I was trying to promote Filipino creations? Don't ask me, I don't know.

Today I am also supposed to come up with a Sigman anniv tarp design but I don't know if I'll be able to accomplish that before 12 midnight since I still have to end my relationship with the infamous 180-page Philo 171 readings. Don't get me wrong-- I love that course but it just takes up too much of my time. I also hate the fact that some articles in it are not in modern English. As much as I'd love to read like a sir, I also hate that I cannot comprehend about 60% of whatever the philosophers are talking about.

Little Sammy

Last night, Sam died.

I was summoned by Mama to, err, let the dog see me for the last time? Ewan ko. Basta when I went out to check, Sam was already lying down sa garahe. He was still breathing, para ngang nagpapahinga lang eh. A few minutes later, he started stretching. Tapos wala na.

I think he's too young to die. Rock on, hipster dog! Sammy here has not yet tried humping with female canines (see, Churro humped him once thinking Sammy was a she).

Ewan. That dog was the reason why I can't go out wearing a decent pair of slippers. Laging nagngangatngat eh. Two days ago, he massacred Jill's purple pair of Banana Peels.

We're kind of aggravated by his display of behavior... sino ba namang hindi? Pero I swear, if you get to know him, if you pet him right, you'll see how, er, cute he is. He craves for attention. Always does. I-pet ko lang ng sandali si Churro, gusto niya na agad.

Now I wonder if there ever was a time na na-satisfy ko yung craving niya. He's too magalaw kasi so I find it hard to pet him. Tapos gusto lagi nandidila. Boo, dog! Kinakain na tuloy ako ng guilt.

We'll miss you. I miss you. Dalawa nalang tuloy kumakain ng hard-boiled egg yolks ko. Huhu. Hope you enjoy tsinelas paradise.

Kalandian: Ang Tagal Naman

So, what's with this piece, eh?

I'm kind of exclusively dating this guy every summer for three years now. There never were an "us", but hey, I don't know, maybe I prefer it that way. I just don't know about him. Efforts for there to be an official something between us were exerted by him, pero I won't let it happen. Maybe I'm scared of commitment or something. Basta. I just prefer it this way. Open relationship-ish.

Back to the piece now, eh? Let's not stray off and let's avoid further kalandian na din. Okay, so medyo may kalandian. Actually malandi nga. So here goes.

Girls, don't you just hate it when the guy you like replies really mabagal-ly? Well I friggin' do. Kaso ayoko aminin, tunog desperado eh. Haha.

Ayoko na. Pure kalandian lang talaga eh. Kbye.

Easter drumbeats

Don't question my faith, I'm not even sure if I still have one.

Happy Easter, folks. The Savior is alive. Again. Happened last year, didn't it? And the year before that. And the year before those. Oh, you get the idea. Don't take this as a ridicule of religious festivities-- I'm merely pointing out the gist of whatever we're doing for the past centuries. I mean, are we not getting tired? Every year, we grieve the death of an Icon who we know for sure will rise again in exactly three days. Parang joke time lang kasi eh. I really don't get it. Experts, enlighten me.

Let's move on. I am not here to spark a solid-Christians-kami uprising against me anyway.

Yan. Putting aside le state of confusion I am in as to whether there really is a superior being or not, I decided to join the annual Salubong. Why, you ask. Have you not just told us that you're confused about your faith, you ask. Well, I've got other reasons to join the Salubong. First, I get to reunite with old friends (in guise of my real mission: to scan the surroundings for boyfriend-material-slash-pwede-na guys). Second, I get to experience the Easter drumbeats.

Easter drumbeats. What are they master, you ask. Dear Padawan (yeah baby I'm a friggin' Jedi Master now), this set of beats is the most bizarre part of the Salubong. I don't know eh, but ever since I'm little, whenever I hear these drumbeats past four in the morning, I get attracted to it. As moths are attracted to light. Joke. Ditch the simile, I'm not amused either. Move along.

Again, when I was still little, whenever I hear these drumbeats, I'd get out of the bed tapos direcho sa window. Shit, man. Alam mo yung feeling na you're transported to another world? Or something. Basta! Teka kuha lang akong thesaurus para ma-describe yung nafi-feel ko tuwing naririnig ko yung drumbeats na yon. Amusing, chancy, chimerical, comical, erratic, fantastic, funny, odd, peculiar, quaint, queer, quizzical, unusual, wayward, weird, whimsical. And let us not forget: magical.

I don't know about your parish, pero ours have these drumbeats matagal na. Consistent, pards. Basta. Napaka-surreal. Unexplainable eh. If this was the church's way of attracting mass goers, then holy mother of cows, it's friggin' effective!

Have you guys ever experienced the Easter drumbeats?
